How to play Gridlight’s block puzzle in airplane mode: the board, 112 levels, and Daily Light stay on the device.

The board does not call home
A block puzzle you can play with no wifi is one whose rules, pieces, and progress live on the device. Gridlight’s 8×8 board, the tray, Classic, Zen, the 112-level path, and Daily Light all start after you open the app. There is no spinner that waits for a server to hand you the next shape.
The useful check is the same one you would use on a plane. Turn the radios off, force-quit, open Gridlight again, and finish a board. The score and the stars should still be there. If a title screen stalls, the puzzle was never local. Gridlight’s deal is computed from the board and a seed, so airplane mode does not change the next tray.
What still asks for a network
A few extras are honest about needing a connection. Cloud save uploads the game file you already have. An optional ad, a shop purchase, a friend invite, and the named leaderboard all talk to a service. None of them are required to place a piece or to clear a line.
If the shop says it is taking a break, you have not been charged and you can still earn coins by playing. If cloud save is off, progress stays on that phone. The website taster is eight moves in the browser; it needs a page load, then it plays in the tab and does not keep a save.
Daily Light and levels without a signal
Daily Light uses the UTC date on the device as its seed. You do not download today’s trays. Everyone whose clock agrees on the UTC day gets the same twenty trays in the same order. A second run that day is practice and does not replace the locked score.
The journey is 112 seeded levels in eight worlds. Stars stay once you earn them. You can leave a level and come back later with no wifi. The only way a wrong clock hurts you is by opening the wrong daily; it does not wipe a level you already finished.
A short list for airplane mode
Before you board, open Gridlight once on the ground so the app is installed and a level has been started if you care about the path. Then flip airplane mode. Classic and Zen do not need that first launch, but it is a calm habit.
Keep one parking bay on the board so a wide piece still fits when you cannot look up a guide. If you want the longer note on what “offline” should mean for any block puzzle, the offline games guide spells out the same tests without ranking other people’s products.
Questions
Can I play Gridlight with no wifi?
Yes. The 8×8 board, the piece deal, 112 levels, Classic, Zen, and Daily Light all run on the phone. Turn on airplane mode and the puzzle still starts.
What needs a network?
Only optional cloud save, an ad you choose to watch, a store purchase, friend invites, and the public leaderboard. None of those are required to place a piece.
Does Daily Light need a download?
No. The seed is the UTC date on the device. You do not fetch today’s trays. If the clock is wrong, the day will be wrong.
